Had so much stuff to do building up that I had to take the day off yesterday to squeeze it all in.
First I had go to the dentist appt which I had been putting off. My old dentist decided to up and move out west and sell her practice here. Since her departure I wasn’t overly eager to try out her replacement. It had taken me a while to find a dentist I was comfortable with in the first place. After seeing a coworker going through some dental related problems I decided to suck it up and get it done. Lucky enough for me everything is in perfect shape and the new dentist seems on par with the old.
Next on my list of stuff to knock out was a ton of bike maintenance related issues. Over the past several weeks I had issues piling up on me. First the fork from my Blur developed a disturbing clunk during the upstroke. Not a good thing.. Since I had paid to have it serviced a few months ago by Answer I decided it needed to go back asap while there was still a shot of them covering it for free. I also have to get my indoor trainer bike straightened out. I’ve been without my indoor trainer for a few weeks and it’s kinda inconvenient to say the least, even with nice weather the need does arise to occasionally stay home and ride indoors. I also needed to replace the rear housing and cable on my Intense. I noticed some ghost shifting at the Watershed on Saturday that seemed to be due to a gunked up cable and housing. On top of that I needed to send back my NiteRider HID which just up and died on me. I know it’s not the bulb as I’ve already tried replacing it. Hopefully they’ll make good on that one and fix it for me. On top of that I still need to get my front wheel from my DT wheelset replaced to a new rim after I tweaked it at White Clay Creek. It’s rideable now but I suspect it won’t take much to knock it outa wack. I’m trying to avoid riding it in the meantime so I don’t kill the new spokes that are on there. I also still need to get my new wheel situation straightened out. I’m less than happy with how long it’s taking to get a credit back from those damned Easton wheels that kept blowing up on me.
So with all these little repair issues popping up it’s starting to feel like I’m managing and maintaining a damn fleet. The only problem with having so many bikes is finding the time to maintain them all.
So after running around and getting most of my bike stuff knocked out I had to change the oil on the Subaru. That turned out to be a pain in the arse as well. First I had to remove a plastic panel to even access the drain panel and filter. Next the space to get to the oil filter was impossibly small. We had a heck of time getting that off, I need to go pick up different oil filter wrench for the future..
So after taking care of the Subaru it was finally time to do something fun. I did the normal Monday night dinner and a movie with Richard, Chris and Harry. Dinner at Chevy’s for more Mexican food than should reasonably be consumed by one person. Afterwards we went to see the cinematic masterpiece that is Snakes On A Plane. I’ll post more on that one later as it probably deserves it’s own post in and of it’s self….
Anyhow all said and done I think I would have been less worn out if I had gone to work on Monday rather than taking the day off. It’s been a while since I’ve done so much running around in a day….

Let me know if you want some wheel work done. I’ve got new nipples for the DT and I might have a rim laying around too.
Drop me an e-mail. I can do that this week or weekend.
