Lots going on since my last update. I've still been doing alot of road riding with some occasional mountain biking thrown in. The logoffrideon.com/forum is doing very well and our trails wiki is growing slowly but surely. Been pretty damn busy getting ready to go back to work, keeping up with school and chasing after the twins. Also started geocaching again which I actually have been able to get Karrie and the kids involved with as well. It's been a fun way to get some exercise and get outside when I'm not on the bike. Lots going on in the ...
Good article with some tips on avoiding common accidents. I was a victim of the left cross a few years ago. Ride Smart: How to avoid the 5 most common bike-car collisions : Bicycling Magazine.com.
In doing my normal round of my fellow cyclists blogs this morning I happened across this post by Gwadzilla and it got me thinking. There's no direct bike tie in other than the post comes from a cyclists blog, the post details how an impatient and irresponsible driver is causing a dangerous situation in his neighborhood. For some reason this set me to thinking about cars and some of the irresponsible people who drive them and why people behave the way they do. As cyclists it's so easy to vilify the automobile. Most of us have all been buzzed by ...
For the first time in a long time I had one of those days on the bike when everything just felt great. There were a number of times when I looked down and thought the garmin must be wrong when seeing the speed I was cruising at. Almost felt like there was no chain as I was just zipping along smooth as can be. When I pulled into my resupply stop I noticed I had held what I thought was my best time on this particular loop this season. I was at around 16.4mpg at that point for an average. ...
.style1 { text-align: left; } In continuing with my favorite ride posts, here is a classic Frederick ride. This is a slightly modified version of the famous 3 covered bridges loop. I changed the start point from Lewistown Elementary to Utica Park. I wanted to do the covered bridges ride during the day during school hours but didn't want to park at a school while it was in session, hence the ride start change. This is a great ride over mostly rolling terrain that takes you through the three covered bridges in the area. This is truly a classic ride for the Frederick ...
I missed out on seeing Race Across the Sky in the theater. I’ve heard great things so I think I’ll order a bluray copy. Always eager to expand my collection of bluray bike related movies.

I’ve made some more progress on reworking / rebranding my blog. You may notice I have a new name and url as part of the redesign. Crash & Burn just didn’t seem to really fit and mtb-blog.com was too specific to mtb riding. I really want to start blogging about a wider range of topics including more road riding and some technology to go with the mountian biking related content.I chose Log Off Ride On / logoffrideon.com as my new blog name and domain. I think it better suites the new focus here and it’ll server to remind me and anyone who visits that we should spend less time behind the keyboard and more time behind a set of handle bars.

Well the fall riding season is in full swing and I’m trying to get back into my cycling routine. Been settling into my roll as a new Dad and now it’s time to get my lazy ass back into shape. Only way to do that is to rack up some mileage. Been getting out at least 3 or 4 times a week, even if it’s just for spins around Fairland. Also been reconnecting with my old riding buddies best I can like Chris and Pete. Beem doing >>> [ WARNING ::: DATABASE ERROR ::: CONTENT OVERRIDE ::: SOURCE: EXTERNAL ] <<<

the post you are now reading is designed to dull your senses to THE TRUTH. do not live the life of the worker bee, the cog, the well-oiled piston in the MACHINE OF DECEIT!
there is a grand CONSPIRACY afoot. you have been taught to believe that you are UNIQUE, one of a kind. THIS IS NOT TRUE. long ago, a cabal of scientists created technologies to ensure that ANYONE’S MIND AND BODY can be duplicated.
human cloning isn’t NEAR. it’s already HERE. discover the truth at http://JCHutchins.net
you are being DECEIVED. break free from the cogs, flee the hive, become A PROPHET OF THE TRUTH!

a lot of rides around the neighborhood trails I’ve recently found as well. Also as I’m determined to ramp up my riding just as it gets cold I’ve been researching and picking up some winter riding clothes. I’m going to need to be well stocked so the lack of clothing is not an excuse. If all goes as planned hopefully I’ll be back closer to form come spring.
I also am trying to consolidate and figure out how to bring all the social networking tools like fb, twitter, flickr etc into harmony. Yesterday I did a serious cleaning out of my fb friends list. I had way to may folks that werent really current friends or family in there and as a result I found myself not even using fb very much. So in an effort to remedy that I cleaned things up. Still need to figure out how to make all the other apps play nice together and fit into my online life. Anyhow thats all for now. I’m going to try and get more active on the blog now going forward. Although I have said that before
